Description
The Sporlan Controls 164393 is a thermal expansion valve designed for use in HVAC systems containing R22 refrigerant, which is widely found in older air conditioners and refrigerators. This TXV, designed specifically for 2-ton systems, controls the refrigerant flow throughout the system to provide the best possible cooling efficiency. The way that TXVs function is by carefully regulating the amount of refrigerant that enters the evaporator coil, which is the component that takes in heat from the surrounding air. The TXV monitors the temperature of the refrigerant as it leaves the evaporator coil. The TXV opens to enable more refrigerant to flow and absorb more heat when the temperature increases above a certain point.
