The Sporlan Controls 164379 is a thermal expansion valve designed for use in HVAC systems with R404A refrigerant and a half-ton cooling capacity. A TXV is an essential component in these systems, controlling the flow of refrigerant into the evaporator coil.When the temperature climbs over a certain threshold, the TXV opens, enabling additional refrigerant to flow and absorb heat from the ambient air. On the other hand, the TXV regulates the flow to avoid over-chilling the air if the temperature drops below the predetermined point.The 164379 model includes 3/8″ and 1/2″ sweat connections for refrigerant lines, as well as a 5-foot capillary tube for remote evaporator temperature detection. It is widely utilized in air conditioning, heat pumps, and refrigeration systems.
