Description
The Schneider Electric (Square D) 8910DPA62V14 is a 60-amp, two-pole, single-phase contactor that can be used in a variety of electrical applications, including heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC). The contactor has a coil that needs to be activated by a low-voltage control signal, which HVAC systems normally use 24 VAC. When the coil is powered, it creates a magnetic field. A moveable contact arm is drawn into the magnetic field and connects to two stationary contacts, one on each pole. The circuit path for the regulated high-power current is now complete. Electricity can pass through a connected load, such as a heater element, motor, or other high-power HVAC system equipment, after the contactor is turned on.
