Description
The Lennox 97J36 is a Defrost Switch SPST, Open 275, and is an essential component in HVAC systems, particularly heat pumps, to guarantee proper defrosting during winter. This switch is of single-pole single-throw type and remains open when the temperature rises to 27.5°F and requires defrosting. When switched on it is used to initiate the defrosting process by the heat pump temporarily reverts to becoming a cooling system to thaw any ice formed on the outside coil. The Defrost Switch ensures maximum heat pump operation and no ice formation and system damage at the same time.
