The Lennox 48K00 is an Expansion Valve, vital part of air conditioning systems because it regulates the refrigerant. When placed in the evaporator coil, it works as a pressure-controlled valve. This works on the basis of temperature of the evaporator coil decreases, the valve opens and allows more refrigerant to circulate. This refrigerant cools by taking heat from the surrounding air and as a result gets cooled as well.
