A device that meters refrigerant flow through your system for optimum cooling performance. The bi-metal TXV is about 3.7″ long, 5.4″ wide and 2″ high. The Carrier works by responding to temperature changes in the evaporator coil of your Carrier unit. The TXV senses when cool refrigerant is absorbing heat from your living space. That kicks off a mechanism to control the valve opening, letting the exact amount of refrigerant into the evaporator.
