The Browning 4TB74 Split Taper Sheave is in many different HVAC systems. This sheave has 4 grooves and an outside diameter of 7.75” and is made of cast iron. Split taper sheaves are essential in variable speed drive systems since they enable the easy variation of belt tension and speed. Depending on the required operating conditions, the diameter of the sheave can be easily modified by just moving the sheave halves together on the shaft. This flexibility increases system effectiveness, decreases energy use, and increases system dependability.
