The Lennox 98J01 Drain Pan is a component that is purposely intended to supply a method to collect drain pan from certain Lennox evaporator coils. When the unit is running, the evaporator coil forms condensate. This Drain Pan collects this condensate to avoid leaks and possible harm to your flooring, foundation or other components that may be in the vicinity. Due to proper condensate collection and signage, the drain pan serves the purpose of preventing water drain back to your HVAC unit thus avoiding cases of leakage and other related water damage
