The Rheem-Ruud 47-24006-08 is a limit switch that is auto-reset in nature which is mainly used to prevent an HVAC system from getting overheated.This crucialcomponent automatically turns off the system when the temperatures rise to a certain point (220°F) so as to avoid possible damage. After the temperature has dropped to a safe working temperature of around 200°F, the limit switch resets thus enabling the HVAC equipments to go back to normal operations.
